Navratra Fasting Spicy Potatoes | Vrat wale aloo ke gutke | Falahari Recipe

Navratra is a Hindu Festival which comes in autumn season every year. It is celebrated upto Dusshera which marks the end of Navratri. Apart from its spiritual and cultural importance, it is also a festival for feasting with friends and family. People during these do fasting for a day, every of the nine days by not eating grains or just taking liquid foods. The food eaten during these days are also different, mostly fruits, milk, Halwa or roti made from rajgira,  kheer or khichdi made from sabudana, boiled potatoes etc., and are called Falahari. So, here I'm going to share one recipe which is mostly eaten during these days, or any fasting day, which is Aloo ke Gutke. Here is the video recipe:




Below is the detailed method :

Ingredients :

Boiled potatoes : 1 bowl, chopped
Rock salt, Red chilli powder, Turmeric powder : To taste
Dried red chillies : 2-3 pieces
Cumin seeds : 1/4 tbsp. for tempering
Coriander leaves, Green chillies (chopped) : For garnishing
Oil : 2-3 tbsp.

Method:

In a pan, heat oil and fry dried red chillies around 1 min. and keep it aside. Add cumin seeds and fry for few seconds then add boiled potatoes. Now add all the spices and rock salt, mix well. Cook for about 1-2 minutes. Garnish with chopped green chillies, coriander leaves and fried red chillies. Serve hot.
